For Elisabeth's birthday party favors, we made spa slippers and sleeping masks for all of the dolls who attended. Turning out adorable, the girls loved them!
In case you need to make some doll accessories, here's a DIY.
MASK
What you need..
Felt
Sewing scissors
Disappearing pen(or just any fine tipped pen)
String
Hot glue gun
1. Measure the front of your dolls head, make a pattern (look at ours for a reference). If you are making several, trace your pattern onto felt. Double up the felt so theirs actually two layers.
2. Cut them out
3. Poke a hole close to the edge (but not to close) on both short ends of ONE of the mask shapes.
4. Measure around the dolls head and trim a piece of string, letting it be a couple inches longer then needed on both ends. Tie in holes on both sides.
^Looks like this^
5. Hot glue the string ends down to secure.
6. Sandwich the two together with hot glue
TA-DA!
SLIPPERS
didn't get any pictures buuut here's some instructions anyways.
- Trace your dolls feet. Cut it out of felt that is doubled up.(Your going to sandwich the ribbons ends that keep the shoes on in between the two)
- Measure your dolls foot around and cut decorative ribbon a little shorter then the length around the dolls foot.
- Hot glue gun the ends down on the bottom side of one of the felt pieces. Sandwich the two pieces together with hot glue.
- Do the same with the other foots felt pieces.
- Add a decorative flower or bow.
Let the doll relax. ;)
Happy hot glue gunning!
