Sometimes hair gets in the way during sports or staticy during the winter months and you need a cute way to keep it up. Being the cheesy person I am, I love bows! It is so simple to make them by yourself!
{before I go on, I should explain the TNT tables and fireworks in the background. My family manages TNT Fireworks tents during the Fourth of July season. So I was watching one of our tents and making bow tutorials earlier this summer-- multitasking! Also, don't mind my chipping nails..}
Supplies
- Two colors of ribbon
- Sharp scissors
- Hot glue gun
- Twisty tie
- Hair band
Cut to size. About 16 inches. Totally depends on how big you want your bow.
Overlap ribbons and glue them together.
Shape your ribbon like a fish(or a cancer sign).
Take the head of the fish and pull it down by the bottom of the fish. {I kind of like calling it a fish...! hehe}
Now squeeze the middle of your soon to be bow together.
Take your twist tie and twist it around the middle of your soon to be bow(AKA squished fish).
Trim a piece of ribbon big enough to wrap around the part of your bow where the twist tie is.
Hot glue your hair band (hair tie, hair fadoodle, head band, rubber band, whatever you call it!) onto the back of your bow.
Hot glue ribbon piece around twist tie and hair band and trim off extra ribbon.
There ya go! You've got an adorable bow!
On the fourth of July, Brownie (the family dog), Elisabeth (my sister) and I all wore these festive ribbons. ^_^
Happy DIY'ing!
