Photo Coasters DIY

With Christmas just around the corner, it can get a little stressful discovering the perfect gift for everyone. Scanning my Pinterest this spring, I came over the idea to put pictures onto coasters. Obviously, I flipped out, loved the idea. Surprisingly it is SOO easy and fairly inexpensive. I've made a set to give my dad for Fathers Day and for my brother Austin.

 All you need,
1. Mod Podge
2. Pictures (I just printed mine out on copy paper, works fine)
3. Paper cutter or scissors
4. Felt or those 'Slidders' you stick on the bottom of chairs so they don't scratch the floor
5. Tiles {only 13 cents at Home Depot}
6. Hot glue gun
7. Sponge brush
8. Clear glaze spray paint (optional, it gives the coasters a glossy finishing touch. I like it allot. It was about 9 bucks. You need to be over 18 to buy it. I learned the hard way.)

1. Hot glue your felt sliders onto the bottom of your tiles. That way they won't scratch the surface they sit on.

You could also cut out felt and do it this way. I just happened to have the sliders around the house.

2. Cut pictures to size

3. Apply Mod Podge onto tile, stick your picture on tile and then...

apply more Mod Podge on top of the picture. Don't worry, it will dry clear.

Let dry.

4. Apply another coat. Let dry.

5. After your coasters are completely dry, spray several light coats of the gloss finishing, waiting 2 minutes in between each coat. This will make your coasters glossy. Let them sit for 12 hours, you don't want annoying little finger prints on them!

TA-DA!
You have a classy, adorable, useful, gift!

Happy DIY'ing! :) Olivia Brooke

  1. I was at a friend's house the other day and her mom was making a ton of these as Christmas presents. She had then spread out all over the counter making them. Such a cute idea!
