Easter Food: Edible Tombs

Easter, a time to remember how Jesus died on the cross for our sins, is coming up extremely fast!
To get into the 'Easter spirit', my family and I made edible tombs, to represent Jesus' burial and resurrection!

You'll need..
Crescent rolls (represents the tomb)
1/2 cup butter (represents spices)
Cinnamon sugar (represents spices)
Marshmallows (represents Jesus)
15 minutes

1. Melt the butter

2. Dunk marshmallows in butter. Steps 2 & 3 represent the spices they put on Jesus. Read John 19:40-42

3. Shake on cinnamon sugar.

4. Open up crescent rolls. We usually bang the container on the counter until it pops open. If you have another way, let me know. ;)
5. Separate crescents and roll one cinnamon sugar covered marshmallows inside each crescent. Read John 19:42. Placing the marshmallows ('Jesus') in the crescent represents placing Jesus in the tomb.

6. Sprinkle more cinnamon sugar on top.

7. Bake in the oven at 350 for 12 minutes.
8. Take the 'tombs' out of the oven. Read John 20:1-10. As you take a bite into the 'tomb' you'll see that the 'tomb' is empty and 'Jesus' is gone!

5 But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead."

Mathew 28:5-7

Don't forget the reason for the season! (:
