Oh, Christmas time. My favorite time of year. The best time of year! Now it's the time when we all are happy, stressed, excited, baking, giving gifts, receiving gifts, and around the family... maybe a little to much! So I thought I would give you some pointers to have a happy, harmonious holiday, with out locking yourself in the bathroom until New Years.
Laugh with your family. Your brother, who had ate nine pieces of turkey, has had his 'loud stomach growls' for the past 3 hours! That is funny. What other family in the world has a hilarious Uncle Joe, who makes the funniest jokes? You answered right. No one! Although they do some really weird things, just laugh. And when Uncle Joe cracks a joke about you-
Shake it off. If you want this to be a peaceful Christmas, your just going to have to let stuff go! Yes your sister should have asked before she burnt your winter wonderland holiday candle. And your brother had no right to take your CD without your permission. But those things aren't that big of a deal. Some things are... but allot of times we get worked up about nothing at all!
Bring a book to all of your family get togethers. Even if your not allowed to bring it inside, it is a nice way to escape from your brother kicking you under the seat and the constant singing of Jingle Bells.
Get Crafty. Nothings better than a few crafts to do with your little cousins while waiting to open the presents! Maybe your Santa Clause cut outs look like marshmallows, but its way better than hearing the phrase, "Cant I just open one? I'm bored."
I hope some of these things help you this holiday season! They sure do help me :)
I was inspired to make this post by an article I read in the SUSIE magazine by Annie Downs.
