D.C or Bust: Day Two

My oldest brother Austin, who was not able to travel to D.C. with us, is on his way to Jerusalem! Since he had to change planes in Paris, he decided to visit the Eiffel Tower. As Austin was riding on the train, all of the metro employees went on strike and started protesting. Everyone on the train had to get off. Dressed up with shields, the police fought back the crowds as Austin made his way through the chaos. Austin became friends with a French couple and they let him borrow their bike to ride around town. My brother ended up getting back to the airport and landed safely in Jerusalem last night.

His day was just a little more exciting than ours.

After starting our day off with a quick family bible reading, we went on our way to meet some family at Steak'n'shake-- only the best sit down restaurant ever! Up in Wisconsin, we don't have Steak'n'Shakes, so it's pretty exciting for us Coon's. ;)

When you live in the city, you don't take advantage of all the opportunities available. Now we don't have the options the city provides. Makes me miss the obtuse population. Although civilization is great, I'd rather live in my small town anyday.

Passing through Van Wert Ohio, my family was able to visit our old home and church. Unfortunately, since I was only 2 when we moved away from Ohio, I don't have to many memories. Nevertheless, it was swell to see where I was born.

After more driving, we finally arrived in Pitsburg Pennslyvaniea and we are going to get a good nights rest, since we've been up till after 1:00 for several nights.

Tomorrow, we will finally arrive in D.C. :)
