// pumpkin inspiration //

I love pumpkins. There is just something so satisfying from carving out a pumpkin. Last week my family carved a few of my favorite fruits (Yes; pumpkins are a fruit!). Usually we just do the regular ugly, poorly carved faces on pumpkins. This year, our friend Kate was with us and she taught us beginners how to use stencils and do the 'scraping method'.

I always have cut the top in a circle shape. Kate created a star shaped top!

If you know me, then its obvious that chevron is my fave. Using tape as a guide, I traced a chevron pattern.

Following the traced pattern, I started patiently slicing off the top layer; then I smoothed it out by scraping.

Have a drill laying around? Use it to create a pattern of little holes!

All about that chevron!

Transformers, of course!

The Indianapolis Colts are our favorite.

Graceful ballerina pumpkin.
